School Board Campaign Websites

More and more school board candidates are taking to the web to promote their campaigns. There are many options available for getting a school board campaign website. There are free or low-cost ‘site builders’ that can be difficult to use and provide little support.

Or you can hire a professional web design firm – but that’s an expensive option.

You can take a risk and hire a local ‘web guy’ to build you a website, but then you may be dependent on that person site updates – if you can reach them.

There is a better way …

Recommended Content To Add To Your Campaign Website

Home Page: Create a ‘letter to voters’, telling them about your campaign, why you are running for school board and what you hope to accomplish for the district if you win.

Biography/Resume: Start off with some personal information, and then take your resume and work it into a short biography. Keep your list short and bullet-pointed, but don’t simply make it a list of your work history. Work in a few words about what you did in those positions. Electing a school board member is more than just whether are qualified – voters need to like you, as well.

Organizations and Endorsements: Include any local organizations you belong to, along with endorsements where possible. Membership in educational organizations is always a plus.

Voter Registration Information: Link to your state’s and/or county’s online voting registration pages. This is important, especially if your election is during the spring. Voter turnout is critical as there tends to be fewer votes cast than during November elections.

Use your website to keep in touch with supporters and send voting reminders before Election Day.

For less than the cost of a mailing, you can have a great-looking website that will help WIN your school board election. For more information, visit OnlineCandidate.com.
